E.A. Poe's poem The Raven tells the tormented night of a man suffering from the death of his beloved, Lenore. A raven enters through the window and perches on the bust of Pallas Athena, a symbol of reason. The man begins to question it about his pain and about Lenore, asking if he will ever see her again in the afterlife. The raven always responds with only one word: Nevermore!” And with each question, its answer becomes more devastating for him, transforming from a simple echo to a condemnation: the certainty that his pain will never end. In the last stanza, the raven remains motionless as an eternal omen, while the man understands that his soul will remain forever trapped in its own darkness, beneath the bird's shadow.

"Nevermore! Nevermore!"
